Airbrush makeup is the best -kept secret in beauty and it is now available to brides in Kenya!

Airbrush makeup is flawless looking makeup, giving women a beautiful yet natural look where makeup is used with a minimalist approach. It enhances one's natural beauty in a way that is not ostentatious or obvious.

In order to achieve this perfect, sheer look, foundation is put into an airbrush and sprayed on the face. T'he foundation is deposited on the skin by means of micronized air that is passed through the airbrush. This ultra-fine mist of water or silicone based foundation offers an absolutely flawless, poreless immaculate complexion which literally lasts all day and evening too as it is waterproof and indelible,, meaning it will not rub off and staiin your clothes or anyone else's, making it a bride's best friend!

It is suitable for all skin types and it is oil-free and works wonders at keeping production of sebum (oil) on oily skin at bay throughout your big day. The even distribution of a micron-pigment mist of foundation enhances the face rather than masking it with heavy foundation that seeps into the skin after just a few hours.

PROS AND CONS OF AIRBRUSH MAKEUP.

PROS:

-Maximum coverage with minimal product

-Delivers a natural and translucent look

-Great for oily skin

-Fantastic for overly-active skin that tends to 'eat' makeup

-Lasts 10-14 hours, a bride's best friend

-Does not require powder, which can be ageing

-Foundation formulations that are silicone based are as smooth as silk

CONS:

-Start up costs for an airbrush makeup artist ( these include airbrush equipment, special makeup and training) are very high (in excess of $2,000) therefore airbrush application is bound to be expensive (ranging from Kshs 10,000-15,000 per person) and quite exclusive.

-It requires a trained and skilled makeup artist.

-Much as it is a technique currently taking Europe and America by storm, it is still very new in Africa.

The author of the article is currently the only professionally trained airbrush makeup artist in the country.
